Evaluate Your Summary SAMPLE

Assessment is a crucial part of nursing education and certification. Before the pretest evaluation, my view about the evaluation was narrow, finding it as a stressful event for giving students a grade and an approach to know whether one has gained the content presented in learning, measured through tests. The pretest questions were presented in a manner that required keen contemplation, for example, the consideration of all underlying conditions before the subscription of a formulation. This gave the feeling that the duration provided for the test was insufficient, with the assessment taking about an hour. The experience of taking the assessment gave me an important lesson. I learned that the assessment was not only a strategy to check if a learner has gained class content but is also a tool set to help learners acquire more knowledge and skills (Care, Kim, Vista, & Anderson, 2018). I also found assessment as a powerful lifelong learning tool that can improve my learning process, thereby improving professional development (Qalehsari, Khaghanizadeh, & Ebadi, 2017). Using the prediction of student passing summary, a score of 64 percent or below is considered as “unlikely success for certification” and the areas of knowledge that fall in this category include cardiovascular, dermatology, endocrine, ENT, hematology, men’s health, pediatrics, professional issues, sexually transmitted infections, urology, and women’s health. The lowest domains of the test are urology, hematology, women’s health, professional issues, and cardiovascular. My contemplation about these scores lays in the method of preparation, which is memorizing. I have found memorizing information to know what to do and know why I am doing it a poor approach for assessment preparation because the twisting of questions can make answering challenging. Instead, understanding concepts and applying knowledge so that I know what to do and why I am doing would be an exceptional approach to prepare for assessment and practice. The highest areas of knowledge (scored above 70 percent) include gastroenterology, neurology, orthopedics, and pregnancy. Pregnancy is the highest area of knowledge, followed by orthopedics. These are the areas where I find my knowledge base secure, and my thought about this scoring is because of the constant placement in these areas over the years.
