Although there is no one, single model for a strong organizational culture, there are some common characteristics that indicate how healthy a company’s culture is. These indicators can be reflected in the workforce, which is why some companies periodically conduct employee surveys to get feedback on the health of the organization and its leadership. In this Assignment, you will provide examples of three different types of organizational cultures and explain the roles leaders and managers have in creating and sustaining those cultures.
To prepare for this Assignment:
- Review this week’s Learning Resources on organizational culture.
- Consider the organizations with which you are familiar (whether through personal experience or by learning about them through the news or other media). What makes a company effective and its employees productive? What are the characteristics of leaders within a strong organizational culture, and how do they impact it?
- Refer to the Academic Writing Expectations for 1000-Level Courses as you compose your Assignment.
BY DAY 7
Submit a 500- to 750-word (2- to 3-page) explanation of how leaders and managers affect organizational culture. In your explanation, do the following:
- Define organizational culture and provide three examples of different types of organizational cultures.
- Explain the roles of leaders and managers in establishing and maintaining an organization’s culture. Provide at least two sources to support your statements as well as specific examples from your own experience, where applicable.
